Place de la République sits at the intersection of several Parisian arrondissements, making it a crossroads for all kinds of people.
Redesigned and reimagined over the past decade, République has become a pedestrian pathway, a playground, a social hub, and a living stage – as much for protests as performances – where skaters, locals and passersby share the same space daily.
With its open plaza and Volcom-designed granite, steel, and concrete features, République has also evolved into a global skate landmark. A place where everyday motion, intensity, and stillness collide.

All photos had to be taken at Place de la République between May 2018 and October 2025.
Prizes were awarded during a rainy but great evening on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at POPUP! in Paris, alongside the premiere screening of Volcom’s new skate film HIGH TIME, and a live performance by Gros Cœur.

Volcom is launching a photo contest focused on an iconic location: Place de la République in Paris.
The plaza is the stage for countless scenes and a key skate spot in Paris. The aim is to try to capture its energy and everyday moments, from 2018 when Volcom installed skate obstacles there, up to today.
The contest is open to all, with special encouragement for younger participants through “Youth” prizes, for those aged 16 and under (born after October 19, 2008).

Only requirement: the photos must have been taken at Place de la République, between May 2018 and now.
The top 3 entries in each category will receive prizes from Nikon and Volcom, and selected finalists will have their photos printed in a special-edition zine and exhibited during the awards event.
This event will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at POPUP! (14 rue Abel, 75012 Paris), alongside the premiere screening of the skate film HIGH TIME.
