What was the very first snowboard video you watched that got you hooked?

I can't remember the first video I ever watched but one that pops up in my head is JP Solbergs part from Transcendence in 2002 I believe. I was about 8 years old and watched that movie over and over again!

What was it that made you like that video so much?

I've always loved his style of riding and the bunny suit he wears through most of his part was pretty entertaining, especially for an 8 year old!

How does that video still inspire you today?

Transcendence and the riders in that movie still inspire me today because it was all about style and how good you could make tricks look without going upside down a thousand times. Riders like Gigi, Romain deMarchi, Wolle Nyvelt all showed that style, above everything else, is gold.

What activities are you in to other than Snowboarding?

I spend a lot of time surfing whenever I can, it's the only thing I can really do that relates to snowboarding. I've tried to skate but I just end up in pain someway or another!

Do those activities translate or influence your Snowboarding in anyway?

The fluidity and power that you see when watching surfers is definitely something that I think influences my riding. Working the board and enjoying the ride is what it's all about.

Who are you calling when there is 2 ft of fresh at your home resort?

No one

Plans or Goals for the 2016 season?

2016 is going to see me continuing on the competition circuit, but would love to spend some time filming and just finding new places to ride. I like to try new things and do something different every season.

Marcus Kleveland upside down down under!
The Kleveland show just came back from 5 weeks spent flipping and spinning all over Perisher, NZ and other Oz mountains.. Here a nice edit of what he’s being doing. Marcus is always in full control of all things snowboarding. However, from the sounds of it, someone picked the soundtrack for him this time around. How else would you explain the absence of the usual “Justin Bieber on speed” sound? Go Marcus! Marcus is wearing the Kabigtime Fleece in WHT, the Stretch Gore pant in TEK and the Travelin’ Hood Thingy in BLK

Three Days with Hairy Scalps in Les 2 Alpes!
It’s August. Meaning the odds of finding parking near the beach is proportional only to the likelihood of eyeing a free square meter of sand to drop your towel on. Then there’s the omnipresent smell of human bacon. Frying slowly in a too small pan. Not exactly the fragrance of choice of todays growing gluten-intolerant/vegan/bio/sustainability conscious youth-community. So you hop in the ocean to cool off, thinking you’ll catch a few. Forget about it. Either it’s flat, or, once the swell hits waist high, a Guinness World record attempt of trying to fit the most tourists on a party wave is taking place on every beach near you.  For the entire month of August. Last but not least (and worst of all), for reasons beyond our understanding, it appears that the trend of “Cover your nipple” instead of “Free your nipple” among female beach-visitors is spreading faster than Donald Trump can make America hate again. Whyyy? So what’s a poor soul to do to escape all this?   Eaaaasy.. Run to the hills! Run to Les Deux Alpes in France, to be specific. Up here, the air is clear,  there’s space aplenty for everyone and the temperature hovers around a comfy, activity-inspiring 20-25 degrees. (That’s 70-ies for our Gringo friends) If you’ve never been to Les Deux Alpes, then shame on you.. There’s NO BETTER PLACE to ride in Europe in Summer.  Sure, Saas Fee gets good, and so does Zermatt. But in terms of multitude of park features, vertical drop, half pipe(s) and last but not least, aprés-riding activities down in the village, no other resort even comes close.   Skating (several parks), swimming and perving on chicks at the pool or one of many nearby lakes, downhill cycling, trampolines, hitting the bars, or doing 101 other sports I won’t even start listing here, Les 2 Alpes truly has it all. It is the most complete summer riding resort in Europe. Period..  If in doubt of what to do or what’s going on, stopping by the Volcom store is always a smart move. Local legend and shop manager Yannick Amevet, of infinite Absinthe Films fame, is always up to date on what’s going on, where the cheapest beer is to be had, which girl NOT to perv on and mucho more. And he is happy to share his knowledge with you. So do swing by. What are you waiting for? Les Deux Alpes remains open until August 27th.. Volcom Snow's The Launch - Watch Now!
Last month our Volcom Snow ams, better known as the Stone Army crew, loaded up the RV and charged up to Bear Mountain for Snowboarder Magazine’s ninth annual The Launch 2016 presented by Volcom. The Launch is an assembly of age 21 and under riders handpicked by the Snowboarder Magazine crew for a 4 day media shred frenzy, and this year it was brought back to the San Bernadino mountains and constructed by the Bear Mountain crew full of endless rails, transition and kicker possibilities. Despite some windy, blizzard, and sometimes great conditions the boys were on fire with non-stop bell-to-bell action! When it was all said and done, Brock Crouch was awarded Standout and 10 yr old Aussie Valentino Guseli took home the Super Grom award for charging almost every feature in the park! Austrian Rider Roli Tschoder stretches his back leg over the Kaunertal access road
Here’s a short edit showing how amazing the conditions are up at Kaunertal Glacier right now, only 40 minutes from the Volcom Snow Team house. There’s hardly anyone around, aside from the like-minded, the park is in mint condition, you can ride from 3200 to 2000m and there’s even pow on offer. Way better conditions now  than in December/January.  Roli from Ischgl certainly has his priorities straight.. But unless you can ride like Roli, the we recommend you spare the stretching until you’re safely back on the ground again.  Now run to the hills… Pic and edit by Flo Achenrainer
