Our newest edition to the Volcom Womens Ambassador Program in Australia is Gemma O’brien.
Gemma is a Sydney based Artist specialising in hand-lettering, typography and illustration.
Gemma has worked with the likes of Monster Children, Kirin, New York Times, Cannon, Vodaphone & Smirnoff. In addition to commercial work, her artwork has been exhibited in numerous gallery shows and Gemma has spoken at Design conference ‘Semi permanent’.
Gemma teaches the Art of hand lettering in workshops across Australia and is heading to America later this year to teach at a design seminar in San Francisco.
Gemma caught our eye with her super funny instagram phenomenon #spewbagchallenge where she would create a pun based drawing on sick bags provided on each flight she took.. her show from the series ‘You Make Me Sick’ was loved by many and created a big buzz online.
Gemma is not only talented but gorgeous (absolute heartbreaker) and has the best smile on the planet.. In her partnership with Volcom we look forward to Gemma collaborating with us across Design, Art, Social Media and Special Events. Volcom look forward to working with Gemma and welcoming her into our wonderful world of creative liberation. Volcom to the family Gemma!
