Cody Beiersdorf is a true Midwestern snowboarder. He grew up riding the rope tow at Hyland Hills, wears nothing but a hoodie in subzero temperatures, and slaughters anything metal or concrete. Minneapolis, Minnesota is Cody’s backyard, and he knows it well. Very well. He spends his summer’s riding his bike through every side street, back alley and abandoned building to stockpile spots for the winter. Cody has an effortless style that makes the techest trick seam simple, which matches exactly his mellow demeanor. Cody was hand picked and put on the team by Volcom’s long time team rider, Seth Huot, with whom he shared his debut part in Volcom’s 2012 video release, IP2. Look for Cody to have a stand out part in Keep the Change’s newest flick “Roll-Call” coming out in Fall 2013.

The Muzelle Festival
Arthur Longo and Olivier Gittler were hosting the second edition of The Muzelle Festival last weekend in Les 2 Alpes. It started with an amazing morning session on Saturday with all the friends on the glacier and then followed with a Berlin "kind of" festival down in the station village during the afternoon. Oli and Arthur have worked their asses off to offer everyone such a fun park to ride as the conditions are pretty tricky! A fast and quick tranny snake with some pretty decent hips in the middle of the run, the perfect ingredients for a family shred. After two hours of snow surfing, it got too sharky so we went down to the resort to check the festival out. Anne (Arthur’s GF) prepared with her Berlin Freunde and the 2 Alpes crew a lovely zone including a flea market, a pétanque tournament, a bar, an Indian food restaurant, a lamb roast and a lot more.. The music line up consisted on DJ Fred Marchadier, Leopard Ale, YGGL, Pat Burgener’s Band and Dirty Deep. A couple beers after the party ended in the Avalanche club (as always)… Check out the full report of the event on Fluofun : http://www.fluofun.fr/news/20579-muzelle-festival-reportage-et-port.html Photos by @Annkristin_z Video by @muzellefestival Thanks to everyone involved ! Volcom Kitzsteinhorn Banked Slalom Report
Good vibes at the finish line hangout @Martin Herrmann The 4th annual Volcom Kitzsteinhorn Banked Slalom is a wrap! As every year, it was a blast and it appears we must be doing something right because this year all starting spots filled up in less than 36 hours and we had more than 120 keen riders on the waiting list. Our snow wizard aka head shaper Martin « Lippi » Liebmann and his crew built a fun & user-friendly course the week prior to the event but little did we know that the biggest storm of the winter was to arrive just two days before drop in. It started snowing late on thursday and come saturday morning, 80cm++ had accumulated on top of the course. So while the lucky ones were shredding the deepest pow of the season under bluebird skies, a tight crew of slightly less lucky shovel slingers were sweating blood and tears while digging for their life in order to get the course ready on time. And somehow, miraculously, we did.  Race on! After the first run, the starting field was cut down to the 55 fastest overall, plus top 5 women, who each got a 2nd final run, with added style point on offer on a purposely-built hip directly after the finish line. Rumour has it Beckna and Terje topped the style awards. With free beers, burgers, drinks and fruit fon offer for all, and free tees for all racers, accompanied by the frenetic mc’ing by Larrogs and Stephane Grenet, the 200-300+ crowd at the bottom of the course went apeshit every time someone set a new best time. Nitro Snowboards also had a workshop to tune everyone’s boards and test their best sticks. @Theo-Acworth - Yes it was deep..
