Stop #7 of Volcom's WITP Europe 2015 | Olten, Switzerland

Same spot, different year! After last year's tour stop in Zürich we went back to the smooth “Ice Hockey Ring skate park” in Olten. This park is amazing, so much place, so many possibilities, ergo, a lot of fun…if you come to this area, you should definitely visit this genius playground.

Saturday, 10 am: The crowd arrived and it was immediately very busy at the registration…but Miki, Jeff and Simone help go though this and the competitors age range was from 9 to 42 years…amazing to see an event gather everyone!

The contest started after everybody had time to eat some sausages from the grill, and then it went wild. The energy levels were seriously high and everyone was pumped from the very first minute.

You won`t read a “trick list” here because you better check the photos and videos to feel the energy of this event…we had a blast. The judges had a tough job all day long because there were a lot of heats and the level of the young and the old shredders was really close together. A bunch of spectators were gathered around the skate park and supported the guys like hockey stars…that was super fun!

So check the video and photos of this great Wild in the Parks 2015 in Switzerland.

We had a blast at the Skatepark Olten and for sure we`ll come back next year. Big thanks to the skatepark crew and everybody else who helped us to make this event unforgettable.

Cya next year!

Euro Thrash Video: Volcom Surf's European Vacation
Our good friends at Wasted Talent put together a video of some of our riders: Noa Deane, Ryan Burch, Gony Zubizarreta, and more, thrashing their way through Portugal, Spain, and France during their summer '17 European vacation. From scoring one of the best days of surf they've ever seen at The Cave, to touring the local watering holes and taverns, to getting caught up in a weird presidental campaign in Paris, there was no shortage of amusement and European debauchery. It was a great trip that surely lived up to its name: Euro Thrash. The team riders, photographers, and crew, all became great friends by the end of the trip and ended on a promise to all return back soon. Euro Thrash 2.0?

The idea was to use them as they wanted and ship them back for this The Film Project initiative supported by Volcom. Leuven Skate Contest
The Leuven Family gathered once again for Leuven Skate Contest. Every year they have a new theme, this time they went all the way with JOHNNY’S & MARINAS. There wasn’t just a costume contest, beers and bbq. No, there was some skateboarding also. You’ve never seen a bowl and street contest this friendly and fun. Simon Deprez took the win with the Volcom best trick contest. Everybody killed it but one guy stood out, he protected his hometown and his title as biggest Johnny of them all, so Jonathan Thijs took the win. And there is no better Johnny prize than a Scooter. Once again, big thanks to the Leuven Family, Twits Skateshop and Volcom. See y’all next year. Credit Photo : Joselito Verschaeve
