RESULTS | Totally Crustaceous Tour (TCT) | SIDFISH, PORTHTOWAN, UK

The Annual Sidfish surf series gathered English competitors under cloudy skies and the mist that is quite common in Cornwall at this time of the year. Porthtowan's beach and sand banks got smashed during the heavy winter storms and due to this a lot of the sand has disappeared , with some new bits of reef showing up on the sand around mid to low tide. The event went well despite the poor conditions and the waves cleaned up for the Pro Am finals.

Thanks to everyone who helped out at the event and especially Josh Ward and the judges, Jack Clinton and misses, and the Blue Bar.

The Mulletfish Surf Series in Hossegor, France, ends Volcom's Totally Crustaceous Tour European leg in fine form!
Despite the bad forecast, the event was a blast ! More than 200 Kids signed up to the contest and enjoyed two days of small but playful Hossegor waves. As some had to secure their spot for the TCT global Championships in Lower Trestles, California, there was some pressure on some surfers and the level of surfing and competitiveness was at its max... A lol of people until the end Surfers from Portugal, Spain, Italy and Canary Islands made the trip to France and had to compose with all top French locals and regulars, which made for a big Euro surf gathering. The tension and competition was fierce in the water but beach games and usual shenanigans kept the spirits high and jolly. Check out the photos below to get a better taste of what went down. About 200 kids attend to the events, a record for the Mulletfish ! This year’s Mulletfish was definitely a “Grand Cru” of the contest! Full results in the end. THE JOHN DOE FRIENDLY SESSION, PSYKOPIT EDITION
For the second consecutive year, Volcom supported the John Doe Friendly Session, a great event gathering the french snowboard scene in Les Arcs at the end of season. Each year the event has a special guest and as Jamie Lynn wasn’t available this year, the organization opted for a reunion of the Psykopit crew (an early 2000’s french snowboard crew that included a bunch of internationals too, mostly known for taking everything on the fun side). Inviting a whole crew turned to be a great choice as the more, the merrier ; the more the merrier. So the weekend was a great mix of snowboarding (around the park designed for the occasion by Volcom team rider Valerian Ducourtil), meeting new friends, hanging out with old friends, partying and good times. Check the clip and photos for a better taste of what went down. Thanks Fred Marchadier, L’amicale du Snowboard, and the Laboshop crew for the great weekend and may the force be with you! New Future
Volcom Hawaii Pipe Houses Fueled by Solar Electricity!
Did you know that the Volcom Hawaii Pipe Houses (North Shore, Oahu) have solar panels installed on the roofs of both houses? Earlier this year, we finished installing tons of new panels on the houses in prime locations to maximize our solar electricity potential. Good for the environment, good for the local community. A huge thanks goes out to Rising Sun Solar for their tremendous product, and to deem the Volcom houses the very first surf brand houses on Oahu's North Shore to be #SponsoredByTheSun! Over the recent years, solar panels have gained attention due to the vast amounts of business and residential owners installing them on their property in order to offset their electrical bill. Contrary, some of their initial setup costs have been a bit pricey, but the cost in the long-run, which we should all think in terms of, will have less money feeding your electric bill and more money in your pocket. Volcom's journey to sustainability first starts in a New Future state-of-mind, a mindset that's destined to turn our strong sustainability commitments into heartfelt actions. Since integrating our sustainability core values into our official mission statement, we have made great strides in implementing environmental-friendly operations and products into the market to ensure Volcom does its part to help preserve the oceans, beaches, mountains, and cities in which we live and work.
