RESULTS | Stop #6 of Volcom WITP European Tour 2014 | Kassel, Germany

Last weekend, the Volcom WITP – Tour stopped over at the Mr. Wilson Skatehall in Kassel, Germany. Despite the fierce temperatures in the skatepark, a good amount of skaters from all over Germany and Austria showed up and fought the heat.  In all divisions the level was super high and some never been done tricks were thrown down the obstacles of the Mr. Wilson Skatehall.

Spectators could witness young Tyler Edtmayer blasting massive bs airs out of the enormous vert quarter, the local boy Robin Wulf bombarding the London Gap with Varial Heelflips, Fs Flips and other tricks, or Octavio Trindade from Erfurt flying over the table into the down rail with almost every possible trick.

Top 5 of each division are qualified for the European WITP Champs on the 27 of September in Sevilla, will Octavio win again as in 2012?

After the official runs Robin Wulf dogged around the park, happy as a dog with two tails, and sprinkled some crazy tricks at almost every obstacle. In the end, he made the impossible possible and cleared the pizza oven gap while customised pizzas were served by the local crew. One of the most iconic skaters of the day was Alex Schultz who convinced the judges with his steadiness and creativity he unfolded in Kassel.

The contest ended with The Cannibal Girls, conquering the stage with an epic sound.

At the end of the day, there is nothing left to say but:

You should pay a visit to the guys from Mr. Wilson Skatehall in Kassel, shred the park and give them maximum respect, since they hand shaped Germanys most epic DIY spot.

Volcom Bastille Days Opening
Cliquez ici pour la version Française On Wednesday July 1st, Volcom opened its skate obstacle, which will remain all summer long on the Esplanade du Port de l’Arsenal, Place de La Bastille in Paris. The afternoon started with the official opening by the Paris city council, with the presence of three Mayors of the surrounding districts, and then the spot got invaded by skateboarders, never minding the high temperatures (Europe is sweating under a record heat wave). Tons of goodies were given away at our DIY stations (tee shirt screening, hat customising and button making…) and in no time, everyone was hyped to watch the action unfold. Dustin Dollin, David Gonzalez, Eniz Fazliov, Axel Cruysberghs, Victor Pellegrin, Vincent Coupeau and Romain Covolan from the Volcom skate team put down a demo matching the heat! At the end of the demo the list of ABD’s of the spot got quite filled up with notably a switch fs 360 and a switch flip from Axel over the trash bin, some trademark crails from David, an alley oop fs 270 heelflip from Eniz and a a double flip by Victor… Right after this some of Paris big dogs entered into the mix during a “Trick 4 Trick” session organised by Electric, where the skaters had to land the same tricks that Electric team skaters David Gonzalez and Sam Partaix were doing for cash. The day ended with music and drinks, but unfortunately without the planned live concert due to some tech problems, and the skateboarders took over the spot for a first of a long series of evening sessions. A big thank you to the city council of Paris for bringing this to skateboarding in Paris, Sterling Projects for such a rad design and finishing details, to Cosanostra skatepark, to Carlsberg for the refreshments, Snowbeach, Urban Surfers, Citadium, Hawaii Surf,Guillaume Perimony for the clip and Jelle Keppens for the photos. See you on Sunday July12th, starting at 19h for an instalment of photos from De Paris yearbook, music, refreshments and the screening of the video “Deuxième Vague”-  Entry is free. Charly Quivront, runner up in Espinho
What a great week for the Volcom Junior team at the second European Pro Junior of the season at Espinho, Portugal. Congrats to Charly Quivront who finished runner up and is now sitting at the 2nd place of the WSL Euro Junior overall ranking! Charly surfed super sharp and was definitely the best surfer of this contest! Unfortunately he missed one solid score in his final and lost in a super tight heat! That’s still a great result for the French Man and we can’t wait to see him at the next contest in Spain at Sopelana at the end of July. Charly was not the only Volcom surfer who ripped at Espinho, Leon Glatzer, from Germany, scored almost a prefect heat, 19.87, with 2 of the biggest airs ever landed in an European contest! Letitia Canales was back on business after a long time injury and she managed a solid result: 3rd place. Welcome back in the water Letitia!! Now meet up at Sopelana in Basque Country on July 23rd for the 3rd Pro Junior of the season! Charly Quivront - Podium Charly Quivront Leon Glatzer   Credits Photos: WSL/Damien Poullenot
